When are additional inserts needed within Wedding Invitations?

When are additional inserts needed? This is actually a question we get quite often. There are a few tips we like to share with our clients when it can sometimes be confusing. That's why most times we recommend this back pocket design that gives you the option of including inserts while not changing the overall design of your invitations. 

Whenever your reception is in a different location than your ceremony you MUST use an additional insert. You guests should have all information possible when it comes to both locations. This would include name and address, and also if there are any specifics about parking etc... 

Aside from having multiple locations being listed on additional insert, other common details to include are accommodations, directions, illustrated map, transportation information, wedding website... Depending on the amount of information you can either insert everything onto one card, or use a separate card for each detail. 

Considering a wedding consists of SO many details, we highly suggest additional inserts. Its a great way to add to your overall stationery design and keep you and your guests organized.

Adults Only...? Plus One's...? How to be specific!

It's safe to say we spend a huge amount of time talking with each one of our clients. We chat about their weddings, careers, pets, dress colors... If you didn't know, we're half stationers, and half therapists most days.  All jokes aside though, our clients confide a lot in us when it comes to what they are dealing with. Whether it be there invitation wording, how to mention a family members passing, or how firmly is it to let their guest know that children and plus one's are not invited. It seems harsh, but something it needs to be addressed. 

We take this very seriously. It's not only our job to, but we know how important it is. When it comes to invitations, it's never polite to be too straight forward. It can be tricky! Needless to say we have a few tricks up our sleeves on how to dodge this. 

We all know the "Adult only reception" comment at the bottom of an invitation normally does the trick. However, some still consider it rude. We suggest adding this comment in other panels as well. For example, make your RSVP card work better for you! Again, be specific and add "List each adult name". 

At the end of the day, this is your big day. Make it clear what you want and ask a professional to help make this happen for you. We love to help!

Wedding Invitation Textures

Take a look at one of our recent trends thats popping up more and more! Instead of a one colored background, we're adding a printed textured background to fit your theme and feel of your wedding. Bar Mitzvah - Silver & Black Custom Pocket Invitations

We have so much fun working on Bar Mitzvah invitations. We get such a mix of kids with different styles and likings. This invitations was made custom for Max. We went with a custom made silver pocket fold, with a window cutout. The colors are simple but elegant and displays a modern feel. We also use a textured paper (one of our favorites). Take a look!

Wedding Invitation Touchdown!

TOUCHDOWN! ...for this great couple! They wanted something out of the box and different for their wedding invitations. This Bride and Groom came to us knowing they wanted a very "fan" based invitation. As you can see they are huge fans of the Denver Broncos football team. We were SO excited to to help them out with their vision  by dreaming up football tickets as their wedding invitations. Using the couple's engagement photos and stock images from their favorite team, we were able to create a unique homage to both their wedding and love of the game!

We customized their invitation with a perforation so each guest could separate the bottom portion and mail back as their RSVP  response. Such a fun idea and such a delight to design! Thank you Ashleigh and Tyler for allowing us the honor of being your design team!

Custom Comic Book Wedding Invitation Suite

We all know the main ingredient to a wedding invitation is the invitation itself. But why not put your own flair to it? Here is a complete wedding invitation suite that showcases our client's style and just how custom we can get. Carly and Michael wanted a formal invitation that also incorporated their love of comic books! The over-all look is quite formal with little touches of comic fun in the verbiage. Below is a pictured invitation panel with scalloped edges, day after brunch information, hotel accommodations, wedding activities, Bride and Groom website information, and of course a custom RSVP card with mad libs for each guest to fill out. How fun is this!

Coordinating Wedding Stationery through the Color Palette

When we meet with our clients about their wedding invitation design we like to let them know that everything we offer is completely custom. We understand that not everyone can visualize a design like we can. We totally get that! We can help put everything into perspective and make the process much easier to follow. 

For example, if you send out blue Save The Dates, would you send out red invitations if red is not part of your wedding colors? NO! Coordinating all of the stationery pieces creates a cohesive/ "branded" feel for the entire wedding.

We suggest a wedding invitation suite that coordinates within all the stationery pieces. Here are two examples of what that would look like exactly. We normally start with a Save the Date design and/or color pallet. You can see we have a dominate color scheme to follow. We then carry that onto the coordinating invitation pieces. 

Sometimes the save the date can be a more whimsical and fun piece that turns more formal with the invitation pieces. By maintaining the same color palette, this is a great way to showcase your personality and still coordinate all the pieces together seamlessly.

Wedding Invitation Verbiage

Doesn't it seem that wedding invitation wording is forever changing? It seems the most traditional wording is great! However, it's also just a start. We find (and highly suggest) that many couples like to reflect their own personal style when thinking of their wedding verbiage. There are just so many beautiful and acceptable ways to write your invitations. We like to give our clients many examples of verbiage and styles to choose from, and we are here to assist you in finding the "perfect" wording for you!

Every wedding invitation should spell out the details. Who's getting married... who's hosting... when... where... what time... These are a must! Take Gabrielle and Justin's wedding invitations below for example. We took a traditional color pallet, and mixed a script and block font, and of course added custom verbiage to it!
